Last week I had a day off, and found myself with Nicolas in a new region around Gouda.
The day started quite cold at 3°C, with easter wind, not really what I wished for, but a day fishing is always a good one spent.

Last year we had a very good trip in Ireland, staying at Castle Hamilton. Since the potential of this area is so huge, I’m afraid to say we’ve got infected with its pike virus, and keep coming back, as we did this year.
About a year ago we visited Vincent and Céline from Coyolles Fly Fishing, as they invited us to join them for the Rise Film festival.
Two years have passed since the last time we went to France to fish the gorgeous zebra trouts of the Albarine.
The call of the clear water river was so strong that last Wednesday, we decided, Mathias and me, to go meet her again.

We hit the road again and head north, up to a river known for good trout fishing.
Red hot sun. Summer is really making it’s name as we leave Dusseldorf airport for a 3 and a half hour flight – final destination: Reykjavik.
Though you know it will be a hell of a lot colder there, it’s always a gas to pack and roll from warm to cold climate for fly fishermen like us.

The end of our rodtrip was coming in sight. There was a lot of water left we absolutely wanted to try on our ride back to Kiruna, but to get to the interesting parts of it without losing time would either cost money or walking days.
We were talking some time about a pike trip, which should ideally be planned in November.
Into the wild. I read the book when I was young, and later on I also saw the film. We all did, and living our own mini “Into the wild” adventure was what we came for, Porsanger Kommune the place to do it.
Our first week would be spent in the area around Kautokeino, an ugly and depressing ‘city’ in the south of the famous Finnmarksvidda.
Some year ago the idea came into my head to become a flyfishing guide around the world ! After a couple years of reflection, I finally found a guide school in Montana which works with a lot of lodges all around the world, SweetWater Travel Company !
