The Fly is a Variation of the original Diawl Bach. I wanted a fly that looked relatively natural but with some added attractor point.

Many people ask why I use Peacock Eye instead of Peacock Herl, well most naturals have a segmented and the peacock eye gives this effect on the body of the fly.

The beauty of a Diawl Bach is that it can simulate a number of different terrestrials in the water hence making it a very productive pattern.

Thread Veevus 10/0 Black or UTC 140 Black
Body Peacock Eye
Tail Black Cock Hackle
Tag Veevus Holographic Mosaic Tinsel
Throat Hackle Black Cock Hackle
Cheeks Jungle Cock Eye Split in Half
Head Deer Creek Northern Lights Seals Fur
Finish Add Deer Creek UV resin to Head

Step by step

1. Wind thread back 4mm.

2. Tie in Tinsel and wind back toward hook bend then rib it back, Apply deer Creek UV resin to secure Tag.

3. Tie in Black Cock Hackle and Natural Peacock eye.

4. Add Super glue to shank and Wind Pecock eye forward to eye and tie in throat Hackle.

5. Tie in Jungle cock Cheeks. 1 feather split in half.

6. Dub on Deer Creek Northern Lights Seals Fur, Whip finish and add Deer Creek UV resin to Thread whilst Whip Finishing.
