Last weekend I went to Holland again but this time not for fly fishing for Pike or Sea bass.

I really wanted to visit the opening day of the new Fly shop Dyckers located in Wezep near Zwolle.

Dyckers has been around for a few years now, as a successful web shop.

They are best known for selling innovative and high quality gear for (Predator) Fly Fishing, and also for catching a lot of big Pike and Sea bass in Holland themselves.

They also organize a number of annual events, such as a Sea bass weekend.

At first the web shop was mostly orientated to Pike, Sea bass and tropical game fish. But nowadays all fly fisherman will find what they need in the their constantly growing product range.

So now the time has come for a real Fly shop that will be open 3 full days a week and on Friday even until 21h00 !

It was a long drive, but it was worth it. A really nice program, good atmosphere, and a lot of fly fishing addicts were present. I felt right at home…

Well located close to the A28 highway, the shop itself looks very good, is well organised and has a cosy atmosphere.

Since I’m going salmon fishing in Norway this summer, I was really keen on attending the two-handed Casting demo given by casting instructor Thorsten Strueben from Loop

This was done on the nearby slow flowing river Ijssel. I also saw him tie some amazing Salmon Flies afterwards.

In front of the shop it was also possible to visit the brand new boat of Bassexpress.nl. This small guiding company organises fishing trips for Sea bass on the Europoort.

Either fishing from the boat, or taking up to 6 float tube fisherman to hotspots that otherwise can’t be reached. If you want to experience some amazing Sea bass fishing, look no further.

So to conclude, I had a very nice day!

It does not always have to be fly fishing, as long as it’s about fly fishing !
