The passed winter months we put a brand new stripping basket to the test: the ‘Linekurv’.

Having used it during our latest trip to the Polders and many other pike trips, it’s time to call out our verdict !

First of all, the Linekurv has an appealing look, which is more than just a nice bonus. Unlike other baskets, colour and design are well suited for the world of fishing. Finally no more passer-by suspecting you of doing the dishes along the bank. Seriously…

The shape is also innovative. Due to it’s rounded look that curves down towards your body, it makes it way more comfortable than the straight versions. The bottom consists of 9 cones, each about 5 cm long, avoiding your line to get tangled.

Rodtrip member Gino added some plastic spikes on top of the cones, to make them more efficient. But honestly, I never felt the need to do the same thing. Up until now, I never had a single problem.

Another useful feature is the built-in rod holder. I personally use it a lot when changing my fly, checking my phone, or when I take a wee…

The Linekurv comes with an adjustable strap, pretty wide and long making it comfortable for just about anyone. It very occasionally needs to be tightened again, but really rarely. Main material of the Linekurv is flexible plastic, making it really hard to break, even if you drop it on the ground.

So, is this product perfect? Almost. The bottom plate doesn’t have an opening to let the water drip out. Though with a simple drill I made 3 small holes in it, solving that problem rather easily. If not, you might need to remove the basket every 1-2 hours just to throw out the water.

If used in rainy conditions you need to do it even more often. Apart from this, we find it one of the best on the market, making it the number 1 used stripping basket in our team. Good job, Linekurv!
