Here is a wasp imitation. This pattern is tied by using yellow polyfoam.
This model can need few tries before arriving to a good result but will find his place in your fly box !
Materials
Hook

8/0-as uni thread, black

Yellow polyfoam, and peacock tail fibers

Step by step
1. Take a piece of yellow polyfoam of 4mm width and 2.5 cm long. Cut it to form a shape like shown in this picture.2. Slide the hook point in the middle of the foam, leave it at the bend.3. Secure your thread, starting where the curve of the bend starts4. Catch a straight piece of foam with your thread, and then rib it widely with your thread going down to the bend.5. Once at the bend ply the foam to the hookeye, and come back , again securing it with the thread, and then going back with your thread to the bend.6. Now, double the foam waiting at the bend with the First half under the hook, and the second half on top of the hook.7. Rib it widely spaced, to form segmentations.8. Secure with your thread the underlying half of foam up to the hookeye, leaving it there.9. Fix your twisted herls.10. Fix two cock feathers to form the wings, one on each side of the hook.11. Tie in the sillylegs, one at each side of the hook.12. Twist the herls around the sillylegs to form the thorax.13. Fold the foam at the hook eye back,and rib it twice, evenly spaced.14. Snip off the foam, situated on top, bring your thread to the eye of the hook.15. Fold the waiting piece of foam back to the eye.16. Whip finish.17. Colour some dots and at each segmentation with black marker.Final fly.Top view.
